A Bit About Us

The JAG Foundation is in its 11th year of creating sustainable change in high-risk communities in South Africa. Utilising sport and play as educational tools to impart life skills and offer children in these communities an alternative lifepath to gangsterism, drugs, and abuse.

Our value-based play programmes, target children’s degraded belief system of themselves, their community, their lives, and future. By creating safe and trusted environments in which learning and self-esteem building can take place, we expose children to the real and attainable opportunity of an alternative life path, one of hope and an escape from a societal predisposition of their future.

Congratulations to Nomvuyisi Seti, winner of the Womens 10km Race and to Anita who won the Jnr race. Anitha Nittah Nonene was also part of JAG running at school. More importantly is the fact that they both spoke with the 30 odd children from the JAG running program after the race, to inspire them and motivate them to stay in the sport. Seti competes for Retail Capital Langa and Anitha for RCS Gugs. Fantastic that home grown talent is performing so well. ... See MoreSee Less

JAG Foundation

On Saturday 2 June 2018 the JAG Foundation attended the Western Province 10 km Championships held at UWC. Our JAG ambassadors finished 2nd overall i.e. Fortunate Chidzivo, 5th overall ( and 3rd in WP Champs) i.e. Nomvuyisi Thelma Seti and 12th overall Marion Leiberich. More importantly however is that we had a number of JAG Runners (children) from the community join us on the day, and Both Fortunate and Seti spoke to them about what it takes to make a career our of running. All the JAG Ambassadors run for Retail Capital Langa AC. Without the generous support of Retail Capital this would not be possible, we are most thankful that we can be involved with excellence at a community level and be in a position to inspire young children to chose a healthy lifestyle. From 25 to 28 June, the JAG Foundation will be sponsoring 12 community coaches to attend and IAAF Level 1 coaching course so that we can empower our coaches. Well done to Marshall Moila, our man on the ground that is making this all happen. ... See MoreSee Less
